Please know writing poetry, performing, and teaching ARE my passions. EDUCATE, ENTERTAIN and INSPIRE is the focus of what I do. I bring the magic of poetry to kids and get them excited to write. There is nothing more exciting or rewarding than sharing the magic of poetry with young students.

Let’s begin with literacy. Poetry and my program stimulates literacy, often in a roundabout fashion. By products include bumps in vocabulary, spelling, sentence or word construction, phonics, part of speech (verbs, adjectives, pronouns, and more). We also stress editing, re writing and “polishing” a poem which differs in intensity from normal written expression at this level.

It’s FUN. Kids get so excited once I break that barrier and they unleash those incredible imaginations.
